Gambling With Your Life

“But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus”. (Phil 4:19)
Billions of dollars are being spent on gambling in the United States each year by those who are seeking wealth and substance so they may live the ‘American dream’ or to live a life of luxury as they see how the wealthy live. The chance of winning a lottery can be as much as 14 million to one, but yet some will spend their money on a ticket instead of using it for God’s kingdom. By the way, one’s chances of getting struck by lightning are 2 million to one – a lot more likely. The Bible states: “For the love of money is the root of all evil:” (1 Tim 6:10a) But still, even Christians will play the lottery stating “I will use it for God’s kingdom.” That’s between God and those who gamble. God knows our needs and He know our hearts. He also knows when a sparrow falls and has numbered the hairs on our heads. (Matt 10:29-30)
Philippians 4:19 states, “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus”. Not just ‘finances’, but all our need -- Spiritual, & Physical. Christians know this verse but often push it aside to gamble. There’s a few winners and there’s many losers. Let me share with you something with some very good odds. Your odds will be 1 in 2. It is actually a 50/50 choice and I have some “inside information” which will guarantee you a big win! Jesus shed His blood for us so none of us will be losers. “In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:” (Col 1:14) “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16) Jesus spoke this. And that is the “Good News.”
Jesus also said “He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” (John 3:18) That’s the bad news for unbelievers. Hell is real, my friend. “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” Again, Jesus preached that. (Matt 10:28)
We do have a choice.
And there’s no gambling here, it’s a choice.
Hope to see you in Heaven.
Trust, Follow, & Serve Him
(John 12:26) (Pro 3:4-6)
