“In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:”  (Col 1:14)

Forty seven years ago, when I was born again, Pastor Glen Stark explained to me that without the blood of Jesus, there will be no forgiveness of sins.  He explained to me how Jesus left His heavenly home to be born (of a virgin) a man who lived a sinless life on earth for 33 years. He explained to me that I was saved by grace through faith and not of my own works.  At the same time, an Arizona miner named JC Jay visited our home and he explained in detail all of the things that Pastor Stark was preaching.  And he also stated that the “blood” of Jesus should never be ignored. “Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.”   (Rom 5:9)   I felt strongly that the timing of his visit was a sign from God.

The blood is not preached much anymore, and has even been removed from many Bible perversions being hailed as “the best Bible”.  I am not getting into a Bible fight but I am stating that all of us should let others know about the precious blood that our Lord Jesus shed for all who will receive Him. (John 1:12)  “And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.”  (Heb 9:22)

There is Power in the Blood’ was a Hymn written by Lewis Jones (1899) which I wish would be sung in many of the modern churches today.  ‘There is power in the wonder-working power in the precious blood of the Lamb.’  What a positive and lively hymn proclaiming our Omnipotent Savior. Dear friends, let us not omit the blood of our living Christ.  He died shedding His precious blood on the cross.  Let us all rejoice and walk in the light.

“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.”   (1 John 1:7)
